About
I am a Developmental Psychologist and Early Childhood Development specialist dedicated to advancing the science of nurturing care and translating evidence into policy and practice that transforms children's lives.
My work sits at the intersection of rigorous academic research and hands-on program implementation. With a PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Edinburgh and extensive field experience across Sub-Saharan Africa, I specialise in investigating the factors that shape developmental outcomes and co-creating sustainable interventions with communities. My research portfolio includes supporting evaluations of parenting programs in Kenya and Zambia, with a consistent focus on generating actionable data for stakeholders.
My core skills include leading collaborative research, managing complex multi-sectoral projects, engaging with policymakers, and mentoring student/junior researchers through roles at the University of Edinburgh and the African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC).
Building on this foundation, I am currently engaged in two key consultancies that apply this expertise:
  • For the University of Southern California, I serve as the PhD-level research counterpart in Kenya for a pilot study, acting as the key liaison between the international research team, local implementers, and government stakeholders to ensure cultural appropriateness and guide implementation.
  • For the African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC), I am leading the coordination and facilitation of co-creation workshops across Nairobi, Homabay, and Isiolo to design an ECD Data Visualisation Platform. This involves synthesising multi-stakeholder input to define platform specifications and forming a Technical Working Group to steer the project forward.
Ultimately, my mission is to bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice to ensure every child has the foundation to thrive.
